What is the NTMA?
The National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA) is the national representative
for over 1,800 precision custom manufacturing companies throughout the United
States.
Member companies design and manufacture special tools, dies, jigs, fixtures,
gages, molds, special machines, and precision machined parts. The industry supplies
the necessary precision tooling and machining for such vital industries as defense,
automotive, aerospace, appliance, agricultural equipment, electronics, medical,
semiconductors, and many more. In fact, every manufacturer does business at
one time or another with the precision custom manufacturing industry. NTMA is
comprised of more than 125,000 skilled tool makers, die makers, mold makers,
and machinists, with an annual capacity of close to 265 million skilled man-hours.
NTMA member companies are located in 43 of the 50 states and are organized into
nearly 50 local federated chapters and tool centers throughout the country.

What are the costs of participation in the SourceAuthority
RFQ marketplace?
Registration Fee
To participate as a SourceAuthority supplier, you must register and
pay a one-time registration fee of $750.00. National Tooling &
Machining Association members receive special discounted pricing
of $500.00.

Pay for Results - Commission
While SourceAuthority cannot guarantee your company will be awarded
work through the marketplace we can guarantee that SourceAuthority
suppliers pay only for results - a 5% commission on opportunities
awarded by buyers. NTMA members pay 4.5%. This commission is payable
for all subsequent orders for the life of the product.
Our billing terms are Net 60 days. Monthly interest charges of
1.5% will accrue on all accounts over 60 days.
Suppliers who pay by credit card or whose payment is received within
10 days will receive a 5% discount.

How does SourceAuthority track RFQs that are
posted on the marketplace but awarded to a member of the SourceAuthority Supplier
Network offline?
SourceAuthority is dependent in part on the integrity of its members to report
activities. Members report activities related to the initial order as well as

What is a Customer Listening Survey and why do
I need one?
SourceAuthority has teamed up with IV Systems, Inc. for the implementation of
a brief but meaningful interview of your customer base. During the interview
your customers are asked straightforward questions about your performance in
the following areas:
- Product / Service Quality
- Customer Service
- Delivery and Shipping
- Quoting Process
- Engineering / Technical Support
Feedback from the buyer is compiled with two objectives in mind - helping
you to better understand your customer and helping us to better understand you.
We present you with the data and a clear, concise summary of our findings.

How do I receive RFQ opportunities through SourceAuthority.com?
Suppliers are notified via email as opportunities become available. The email
contains a brief description of the RFQ and a link to the SourceAuthority website.
To view RFQ details, login to the site and click "RFQs Available to Quote"
on the "My Account' page.

How do I view the CAD drawings associated with the buyer's
RFQ?
Suppliers may download the files for viewing. Free viewers are available for
downloading.

What happens if I have questions for the buyer concerning
a RFQ?
If a supplier has questions regarding a RFQ they are encouraged to communicate
directly with the buyer through our private messaging system, SourceMail.

How do I respond to a buyer's RFQ?
Suppliers submit quotations using the simple forms provided. Quotations are
presented to the buyer in addition to the supplier profile. Supplier profiles
include contact information, facility lists and survey scores.
In the quoting process can I collaborate with the buyer
on the RFQ?
Buyers and suppliers are urged to communicate! At all stages of the RFQ process
SourceAuthority's collaboration tools enable you to ask questions, make suggestions
or comments. All messages are archived with the corresponding RFQ. Please
note that during all correspondence the terms of use apply.

What happens if I need to revise or withdraw a quotation?
While the system enables suppliers to revise or withdraw quotations every effort
should be made to ensure that quotations are complete and accurate before submission.

How will I know if I have been awarded the opportunity?
You will receive notification of the award via email. Buyers will contract with you for production.
Buyers are required to send a hard copy of the requisition to both you the supplier, and SourceAuthority.
